The East Dorset and New Forest Branch of the

Motor Neurone Disease Association has the sole aim of serving all those in the area who are affected by

Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This includes people with MND, their carers, family and friends.

 

We liaise with health and social care professionals such as: Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the Medical Profession.

Welcome

MND is a neurological condition that destroys the Motor Neurones and that in turn affects the muscles leaving people unable to do the everyday things the rest of us take for granted.

 

Walking, talking and swallowing may become very difficult, yet the mind and senses are rarely affected. The severity of the disease varies from person to person, as does the speed of deterioration. There are a number of variants of the disease.
