

Branch or Group Achievement
We think East Dorset and New Forest Branch/Group deserves this award because:
Every member has a designated visitor.
Consultant Neurologists work with the branch to encourage newly diagnosed to join the Association.
Meetings held monthly and one has been changed to the afternoon to be more accessible to members.
Some meetings have up to one third of those known to us living with MND actually present.
Branch involved in very successful awareness MND interest group co-ordinated by by local Neurologist consultant (80+ in attendance)
A hierarchy of meetings now available ranging from social coffee meetings, visitor meetings, bereaved partner meetings, special interest e.g.IT training meetings.
Loose agenda setting at coffee meetings to ensure not just a social occasion but factual input e.g. How to apply for and win “Continuing Care”, tips from members re. medication, mobility and eating / drinking aids, passing on of equipment, display and publicity for members skills and achievements.)
